The Team at St Luke's

The Team at Roseville really includes everyone.  Whilst like many churches we have a Minister and Elders, there are many others with many ministry gifts who do a host of things, which make up our whole church family.

1. MINISTRY TEAM

Meet our team now and you will recognise us when we meet.

Graham Spence   Minister
Graham has been the senior minister at Roseville since July 1999.   He is keen to bring the whole counsel of God to the community through the systematic sharing of what the Bible teaches, building up believers in their faith, reaching out to the community, and fostering a caring pastoral concern.

Graham is married to Janet who is a private school academic support coordinator.   They have four adult children and four grandchildren.

Previously Graham was minister at Bankstown (Revesby), Cessnock, and Queanbeyan.  Prior to entering the ministry he was a qualified company secretary and accountant.

Daniel Perrott  Youth Minister
Daniel joined the full-time ministry team at St Luke’s early in 2007 as the Youth Minister.   He works principally in the areas of children, youth and young families.    He supervises the Sunday School,  runs the Refuel (Youth Group), teaches Scripture at a number of local primary and high schools, has an exciting gift for puppet ministry, and among other things enhances the music ministry through the guitar and drums.    Daniel completed his B.Th. through the Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC).   He is married to Anna who is a high school Maths teacher.

Youth Ministry Assistant   (Part-time)     tba
Joining us soon will be our Youth Ministry Assistant to help us with our new Kid’s Club, and our Refuel Youth Group and on Sunday Evenings.

ELDERSHIP TEAM

One of the strengths of Presbyterian Churches is that along with the Minister (as first among equals) the congregation is led by a team of Elders called a Session.  Presbyterian in effect means “ruled by elders”  In NSW they include both males and females who are generally ‘lay people’ in that they are not employed by the church and generally have normal secular employment.   A wide variety of gifts and insights are brought to bear in the areas of oversight , pastoral care, evangelism, training, Bible Study and so on due to the breadth of a good team of Elders.

Darcy Le Raye  Session Clerk
Darcy, one of our Elders  is our Session Clerk and has held this ministry position at Roseville since 2003.  Darcy works in the education faculty at a large university,  and is married to Geoff.  Darcy has been the driving force for our Church on Wednesday (COW), which is held on the second Wednesday evening each month.

Paul Gentle.
Paul is one of our Elders and is a Lawyer who works as a corporate lawyer in a major power supplier.  He is married to Judy and has four children.

Alistair Johnston
Alistair, a retired banker has been an Elder at St Luke’s for over a decade and has carried out the duties of Church Treasurer for the past five years. Alistair oversees the work of the Men’s League which meets four times a year.  He is also the coordinator of the team which supervises and carries out the invigilation of the six or so weeks each year of Charles Sturt external exams which are held in the Foundation Church.

Geoff Le Raye
Geoff has been an Elder at St Luke’s since 2003 and is currently also the commissioned Presbytery Elder.  Geoff is an ex Navy man and is employed as an IT educator at a major supplier of integrated logistics support services to Australian and international defence and industry.

Tony Ward
Tony is a Head of Department at an upper north shore High School.   Tony, along with his wife Jan supervised the work of the Sunday School at Roseville for many years.   Tony has taking the running in organising our Fete in its various forms (Garage Sale, Tartan Fair, Trash and Treasure) for the past number of years, and is heavily involved in the organisation of the annual Kirking of the Tartan and our involvement in combined churches Carols.   Tony cooks a mean sausage at our BBQ’s. Tony along with some help from Coles is the cook for our Men’s League group.
